Saul Anointed King

1 Samuel 16:12-13

12 And he sent and brought him in. Now he was ^fruddy and had beautiful eyes and was handsome. And the Lord said, ^g“Arise, anoint him, for this is he.” 13 Then Samuel took ^hthe horn of oil ⁱand anointed him in the midst of his brothers. ^jAnd the Spirit of the Lord rushed upon David from that day forward. And Samuel rose up and went to Ramah.

1 Kings 19:15-16

15 And the Lord said to him, “Go, return on your way to the wilderness of Damascus. And when you arrive, you shall anoint Hazael to be king over Syria. 16 ^kAnd Jehu the son of Nimshi you shall anoint to be king over Israel, and ^lElisha the son of Shaphat of Abel-meholah you shall anoint to be prophet in your place.

2 Kings 9:3

3 Then take the flask of oil and pour it on his head and say, ‘Thus says the Lord, ^mI anoint you king over Israel.’ Then open the door and flee; do not linger.”
