9So Saul said, “Bring the burnt offering here to me, and the peace offerings.” And he offered the burnt offering.

1 Samuel 15:9

9 aBut Saul and the people spared Agag and the best of the sheep and of the oxen and of the fattened calves
The meaning of the Hebrew term is uncertain
and the lambs, and all that was good, and would not utterly destroy them. All that was despised and worthless they devoted to destruction.

1 Samuel 15:23-26

23For rebellion is as the sin of divination,
and presumption is as iniquity and cidolatry.
Because dyou have rejected the word of the Lord,
ehe has also rejected you from being king.”
24Saul said to Samuel, f“I have sinned, for I have transgressed the commandment of the Lord and your words, because I feared the people and obeyed their voice. 25Now therefore, please pardon my sin and greturn with me that I may bow before the Lord.” 26And Samuel said to Saul, “I will not return with you. hFor you have rejected the word of the Lord, iand the Lord has rejected you from being king over Israel.”

1 Kings 20:42

42And he said to him, “Thus says the Lord, ‘Because you have let go out of your hand the man whom I had devoted to destruction,
That is, set apart ( devoted) as an offering to the Lord (for destruction)
therefore kyour life shall be for his life, and your people for his people.’”

1 Chronicles 10:13

13So Saul died lfor his breach of faith. He broke faith with the Lord in that he did not keep the command of the Lord, and also mconsulted a medium, seeking guidance.

Jeremiah 48:10

10 nCursed is he who does othe work of the Lord with slackness, and cursed is he who keeps back his sword from bloodshed.
