4 O bLord God of hosts,
chow long will you be angry with your people’s prayers?
5You have fed them with dthe bread of tears
and given them tears to drink in full measure.
6 eYou make us an object of contention for our fneighbors,
and our enemies laugh among themselves.
7 gRestore us, O God of hosts;
let your face shine, that we may be saved!
8 You brought ha vine out of Egypt;
you idrove out the nations and planted it.
9You jcleared the ground for it;
it took deep root and filled the land.
10The mountains were covered with its shade,
the mighty cedars with its branches.
11It sent out its branches to kthe sea
and its shoots to lthe River.
That is,  the Euphrates

12Why then have you nbroken down its walls,
so that all who pass along the way pluck its fruit?
13 oThe boar from the forest ravages it,
and all that move in the field feed on it.
14 Turn again, O God of hosts!
pLook down from heaven, and see;
have regard for this vine,
15the stock that your right hand planted,
and for the son whom you made strong for yourself.
16They have qburned it with fire; they have rcut it down;
may they perish at sthe rebuke of your face!

by day and by night;
and it will be usheer terror to understand the message.

17 vA thousand shall flee at the threat of one;
at the threat of five you shall flee,
till you are left
like a flagstaff on the top of a mountain,
like a signal on a hill.

Isaiah 51:20

20 wYour sons have fainted;
they lie at the head of every street
like an xantelope yin a net;
they are full of the wrath of the Lord,
the rebuke of your God.

12And this shall be abthe plague with which the Lord will strike all the peoples that wage war against Jerusalem: their flesh will rot while they are still standing on their feet, their eyes will rot in their sockets, and their tongues will rot in their mouths.

13And acon that day a great panic from the Lord shall fall on them, so that adeach will seize the hand of another, and the hand of the one will be raised against the hand of the other.
