1 Samuel 14:50-51

50 And the name of Saul’s wife was Ahinoam the daughter of Ahimaaz. ^aAnd the name of the commander of his army was Abner the son of Ner, ^bSaul’s uncle. 51 ^cKish was the father of Saul, and Ner the father of Abner was the son of ^dAbiel.

2 Samuel 3:27

27 And when Abner returned to Hebron, Joab took him aside into the midst of the gate to speak with him privately, ^eand there he struck him ^fin the stomach, so that he died, for the blood of Asahel his brother.

2 Samuel 3:37

37 So all the people and all Israel understood that day that it had not been the king’s will to put to death Abner the son of Ner.
