2 Chronicles 24:17-22

17Now after the death of Jehoiada the princes of Judah came and paid homage to the king. Then the king listened to them. 18And they abandoned the house of the Lord, the God of their fathers, and served ethe Asherim and the idols. And fwrath came upon Judah and Jerusalem for this guilt of theirs. 19 gYet he sent prophets among them to bring them back to the Lord. hThese testified against them, but they would not pay attention.

20 iThen the Spirit of God clothed Zechariah jthe son of Jehoiada the priest, and he stood above the people, and said to them, “Thus says God, kWhy do you break the commandments of the Lord, so that you cannot prosper? lBecause you have forsaken the Lord, he has forsaken you.’” 21But mthey conspired against him, nand by command of the king they stoned him with stones in the court of the house of the Lord. 22Thus Joash the king did not remember the kindness that Jehoiada, Zechariah’s father, had shown him, but killed his son. And when he was dying, he said, “May the Lord see oand avenge!”

Ezekiel 3:20-21

20 wAgain, if a righteous person turns from his righteousness and commits injustice, xand I lay a stumbling block before him, he shall die. yBecause you have not warned him, he shall die for his sin, zand his righteous deeds that he has done shall not be remembered, aabut his blood I will require at your hand. 21But if you warn the righteous person not to sin, and he does not sin, he shall surely live, because he took warning, and you will have delivered your soul.”

Ezekiel 18:26

26 abWhen a righteous person turns away from his righteousness and does injustice, he shall die for it; for the injustice that he has done he shall die.

Ezekiel 33:12-13

12 ac“And you, son of man, say to adyour people, aeThe righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him when he transgresses, afand as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall by it when he turns from his wickedness, agand the righteous shall not be able to live by his righteousness
