22 And Samuel said,

^a“Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices,
as in obeying the voice of the Lord?
Behold, ^bto obey is better than sacrifice,
and to listen than the fat of rams.

Isaiah 1:11-15

11 ^c“What to me is the multitude of your sacrifices?
says the Lord;
I have had enough of burnt offerings of rams
and the fat of well-fed beasts;
I do not delight in the blood of bulls,
or of lambs, or of goats.
12 “When you come to ^dappear before me,
who has required of you
this trampling of my courts?
13 Bring no more vain offerings;
incense is an abomination to me.
^eNew moon and Sabbath and the ^fcalling of convocations—
I cannot endure ^giniquity and ^hsolemn assembly.
14 Your ⁱnew moons and your appointed feasts
my soul hates;
they have become a burden to me;
I am weary of bearing them.
15 When you ^jspread out your hands,
I will hide my eyes from you;
^keven though you make many prayers,
I will not listen;

Amos 5:21-22

21 ^m“I hate, I despise your feasts,
and I take no delight in your solemn assemblies.
22 ⁿEven though you offer me your burnt offerings and grain offerings,
I will not accept them;
and the peace offerings of your fattened animals,
I will not look upon them.
