1 Samuel 15:22

22And Samuel said,

a“Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices,
as in obeying the voice of the Lord?
Behold, bto obey is better than sacrifice,
and to listen than the fat of rams.

Psalms 40:6

6 cIn sacrifice and offering you have not delighted,
but you have given me an open dear.
Hebrew ears you have dug for me

Burnt offering and sin offering
you have not required.

Psalms 50:8-17

8Not for your sacrifices fdo I rebuke you;
your burnt offerings are continually before me.
9I will not accept a bull from your house
or goats from your folds.
10For every beast of the forest is mine,
the cattle on a thousand hills.
11 gI know all the birds of the hills,
and all that moves in the field is mine.
12 If I were hungry, I would not tell you,
hfor the world and its fullness are mine.
13Do I eat the flesh of bulls
or drink the blood of goats?
14 iOffer to God a sacrifice of thanksgiving,
Or Make thanksgiving your sacrifice to God

and kperform your vows to the Most High,
15and lcall upon me in the day of trouble;
I will mdeliver you, and you shall nglorify me.”
16 But to the wicked God says:
What right have you to recite my statutes
or take my covenant on your lips?
17 oFor you hate discipline,
pand you cast my words behind you.

Psalms 51:16-17

16 qFor you will not delight in sacrifice, or I would give it;
you will not be pleased with a burnt offering.
17The sacrifices of God are ra broken spirit;
a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.

Hosea 6:6

6For sI desire steadfast love
Septuagint mercy
and not sacrifice,
uthe knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings.

Matthew 9:13

13Go and learn vwhat this means: w‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.’ For xI came not to call the righteous, ybut sinners.”

Mark 12:33

33And to love him with all the heart and with all zthe understanding and with all the strength, and to love one’s neighbor as oneself, aais much more than all abwhole burnt offerings and sacrifices.”
