1 Samuel 15:22

22And Samuel said,

a“Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices,
as in obeying the voice of the Lord?
Behold, bto obey is better than sacrifice,
and to listen than the fat of rams.

Psalms 50:7-15

7 cHear, O my people, and I will speak;
O Israel, I will testify against you.
dI am God, your God.
8Not for your sacrifices edo I rebuke you;
your burnt offerings are continually before me.
9I will not accept a bull from your house
or goats from your folds.
10For every beast of the forest is mine,
the cattle on a thousand hills.
11 fI know all the birds of the hills,
and all that moves in the field is mine.
12 If I were hungry, I would not tell you,
gfor the world and its fullness are mine.
13Do I eat the flesh of bulls
or drink the blood of goats?
14 hOffer to God a sacrifice of thanksgiving,
Or Make thanksgiving your sacrifice to God

and jperform your vows to the Most High,
15and kcall upon me in the day of trouble;
I will ldeliver you, and you shall mglorify me.”

Isaiah 1:11-16

11 nWhat to me is the multitude of your sacrifices?
says the Lord;
I have had enough of burnt offerings of rams
and the fat of well-fed beasts;
I do not delight in the blood of bulls,
or of lambs, or of goats.
12 “When you come to oappear before me,
who has required of you
this trampling of my courts?
13Bring no more vain offerings;
incense is an abomination to me.
pNew moon and Sabbath and the qcalling of convocations
I cannot endure riniquity and ssolemn assembly.
14Your tnew moons and your appointed feasts
my soul hates;
they have become a burden to me;
I am weary of bearing them.
15When you uspread out your hands,
I will hide my eyes from you;
veven though you make many prayers,
I will not listen;
wyour hands are full of blood.
16 xWash yourselves; make yourselves clean;
remove the evil of your deeds from before my eyes;
ycease to do evil,

Isaiah 58:3-5

3 zWhy have we fasted, and you see it not?
Why have we humbled ourselves, and you take no knowledge of it?’
Behold, in the day of your fast you seek your own pleasure,
Or pursue your own business

aband oppress all your workers.
4Behold, you fast only to quarrel and to fight
and to hit with a wicked fist.
Fasting like yours this day
will not make your voice to be heard on high.
5 acIs such the fast that I choose,
ada day for a person to humble himself?
Is it to bow down his head like a reed,
and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him?
Will you call this a fast,
and a day acceptable to the Lord?

Jeremiah 6:20

20 aeWhat use to me is affrankincense that comes from agSheba,
or sweet cane from a distant land?
ahYour burnt offerings are not acceptable,
nor your sacrifices pleasing to me.

Amos 5:21-24

21 ai“I hate, I despise your feasts,
and I take no delight in your solemn assemblies.
22 ajEven though you offer me your burnt offerings and grain offerings,
I will not accept them;
and the peace offerings of your fattened animals,
I will not look upon them.
23Take away from me the noise of your songs;
to akthe melody of your harps I will not listen.
24But let justice roll down like waters,
and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.
