1 Samuel 17:50

50So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone, and struck the Philistine and killed him. There was no sword in the hand of David.

1 Samuel 18:5-7

5And David went out aand was successful wherever Saul sent him, so that Saul set him over the men of war. And this was good in the sight of all the people and also in the sight of Saul’s servants.

Saul’s Jealousy of David

6As they were coming home, when David returned from striking down the Philistine, bthe women came out of all the cities of Israel, singing and dancing, to meet King Saul, with tambourines, with songs of joy, and with musical instruments.
Or triangles, or three-stringed instruments
7And the women dsang to one another as they celebrated,

eSaul has struck down his thousands,
and David his ten thousands.”

1 Samuel 18:25

25Then Saul said, “Thus shall you say to David, ‘The king desires no fbride-price except a hundred foreskins of the Philistines, gthat he may be avenged of the king’s enemies.’” hNow Saul thought to make David fall by the hand of the Philistines.

1 Samuel 19:5

5For ihe took his life in his hand jand he struck down the Philistine, kand the Lord worked a great salvation for all Israel. You saw it, and rejoiced. Why then will you sin against linnocent blood by killing David without cause?”

2 Samuel 8:10

10Toi sent his son Joram to King David, to ask about his health and to bless him because he had fought against Hadadezer and defeated him, for Hadadezer had often been at war with Toi. And Joram brought with him articles of silver, of gold, and of bronze.
