Psalms 16:3

3 As for dthe saints in the land, they are the excellent ones,
in whom is all my delight.
Or To the saints in the land, the excellent in whom is all my delight, I say:

John 15:17-19

17These things I command you, fso that you will love one another.

The Hatred of the World

18 gIf the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you. 19 hIf you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because iyou are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.

1 John 3:12-14

12We should not be like jCain, who was of the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? kBecause his own deeds were evil and his brother’s righteous. 13Do not be surprised, brothers,
Or  brothers and sisters. The plural Greek word adelphoi (translated “brothers”) refers to siblings in a family. In New Testament usage, depending on the context, adelphoi may refer either to men or to both men and women who are siblings (brothers and sisters) in God’s family, the church; also verses 14, 16
mthat the world hates you.
14We know that nwe have passed out of death into life, because we love the brothers. Whoever does not love abides in death.
