1 Samuel 18:21-26

21Saul thought, “Let me give her to him, that she may abe a snare for him band that the hand of the Philistines may be against him.” Therefore Saul said to David a second time,

22And Saul commanded his servants, “Speak to David in private and say, ‘Behold, the king has delight in you, and all his servants love you. Now then become the king’s son-in-law.’” 23And Saul’s servants spoke those words in the ears of David. And David said, e“Does it seem to you a little thing to become the king’s son-in-law, since I am a poor man and have no reputation?” 24And the servants of Saul told him, “Thus and so did David speak.” 25Then Saul said, “Thus shall you say to David, ‘The king desires no fbride-price except a hundred foreskins of the Philistines, gthat he may be avenged of the king’s enemies.’” hNow Saul thought to make David fall by the hand of the Philistines. 26And when his servants told David these words, it pleased David well to be the king’s son-in-law. iBefore the time had expired,

1 Samuel 26:21-25

21Then Saul said, j“I have sinned. Return, my son David, for I will no more do you harm, because my life was precious in your eyes this day. Behold, I have acted foolishly, and have made a great mistake.” 22And David answered and said, “Here is the spear, O king! Let one of the young men come over and take it. 23 kThe Lord rewards every man for his righteousness and his faithfulness, for the Lord gave you into my hand today, and I would not put out my hand against the Lord’s anointed. 24Behold, as your life was precious this day in my sight, so may my life be precious in the sight of the Lord, and may he deliver me out of all tribulation.” 25Then Saul said to David, “Blessed be you, my son David! You will do many things and will lsucceed in them.” So David went his way, and Saul returned to his place.

2 Samuel 15:31

31And it was told David, “Ahithophel is among the conspirators with Absalom.” And David said, “O Lord, please mturn the counsel of Ahithophel into foolishness.”
