1 Samuel 19:19-24

19And it was told Saul, “Behold, David is at Naioth in Ramah.” 20Then Saul sent messengers to take David, and when they saw the company of the prophets prophesying, and Samuel standing as head over them, athe Spirit of God came upon the messengers of Saul, band they also prophesied. 21When it was told Saul, he sent other messengers, cand they also prophesied. And Saul sent messengers again the third time, dand they also prophesied. 22Then he himself went to Ramah and came to the great well that is in Secu. And he asked, “Where are Samuel and David?” And one said, “Behold, they are at Naioth in eRamah.” 23And he went there to Naioth in Ramah. fAnd the Spirit of God came upon him also, and as he went he prophesied until he came to Naioth in Ramah. 24 gAnd he too stripped off his clothes, and he too prophesied before Samuel and lay naked all that day and all that night. Thus it is said, h“Is Saul also among the prophets?”

1 Samuel 23:26-28

26Saul went on one side of the mountain, and David and his men on the other side of the mountain. And David was hurrying to get away from Saul. As Saul and his men were closing in on David and his men to capture them, 27a messenger came to Saul, saying, “Hurry and come, for the Philistines have made a raid against the land.” 28So Saul returned from pursuing after David and went against the Philistines. Therefore that place was called the Rock of Escape.

6 Blessed be the Lord,
who has not given us
as prey to their teeth!
7We have escaped like a bird
from jthe snare of the fowlers;
the snare is broken,
and we have escaped!
8 kOur help is in the name of the Lord,
who made heaven and earth.
