1 Samuel 22:11-19

11Then the king sent to summon Ahimelech the priest, the son of Ahitub, and all his father’s house, the priests who were at Nob, and all of them came to the king. 12And Saul said, “Hear now, son of Ahitub.” And he answered, “Here I am, my lord.” 13And Saul said to him, “Why have you conspired against me, you and the son of Jesse, in that you have given him bread and a sword and ahave inquired of God for him, so that he has risen against me, bto lie in wait, as at this day?” 14Then Ahimelech answered the king, “And who among all your servants is so faithful as David, who is the king’s son-in-law, and captain over
Septuagint, Targum; Hebrew  and has turned aside to
your bodyguard, and honored in your house?
15Is today the first time dthat I have inquired of God for him? No! Let not the king impute anything to his servant or to all the house of my father, for your servant has known nothing of all this, emuch or little.” 16And the king said, “You shall surely die, Ahimelech, you and all your father’s house.” 17And the king said to fthe guard who stood about him, “Turn and kill the priests of the Lord, because their hand also is with David, and they knew that he fled and did not disclose it to me.” But the servants of the king would not put out their hand to strike the priests of the Lord. 18Then the king said to Doeg, “You turn and strike the priests.” And Doeg the Edomite turned and struck down the priests, gand he killed on that day eighty-five persons who wore the linen ephod. 19And Nob, the city of the priests, he put to the sword; hboth man and woman, child and infant, ox, donkey and sheep, he put to the sword.

Daniel 2:5-13

5The king answered and said to ithe Chaldeans, “The word from me is firm: if you do not make known to me the dream and its interpretation, you shall be jtorn limb from limb, kand your lhouses shall be laid in ruins. 6But if you show the dream and its interpretation, myou shall receive from me gifts and rewards and great honor. nTherefore show me the dream and its interpretation.” 7They answered a second time and said, “Let the king tell his servants the dream, and we will show its interpretation.” 8The king answered and said, “I know with certainty that you are trying to ogain time, because you see that the word from me is firm 9if you do not make the dream known to me, pthere is but one sentence for you. You have agreed to speak lying and corrupt words before me till qthe times change. rTherefore tell me the dream, and I shall know that you can show me its interpretation.” 10 sThe Chaldeans answered the king and said, “There is not a man on earth who can meet the king’s demand, for no great and powerful king has asked such a thing of any magician or enchanter or tChaldean. 11The thing that the king asks is difficult, and no one can show it to the king except uthe gods, whose dwelling is not with flesh.”

12Because of this the king was angry and vvery furious, and wcommanded that all xthe wise men of Babylon be destroyed. 13So the decree went out, and the wise men were about to be killed; and they sought yDaniel and his companions, to kill them.

Matthew 2:16

Herod Kills the Children

16Then Herod, when he saw that he had been tricked by the wise men, became furious, and he sent and killed all the male children in Bethlehem and in all that region who were two years old or under, according to the time that he had ascertained from the wise men.

Acts 12:19

19And after Herod searched for him and did not find him, he examined the sentries and zordered that they should be put to death. Then he went down from Judea to Caesarea and spent time there.
