1 Samuel 22:13-23

13And Saul said to him, “Why have you conspired against me, you and the son of Jesse, in that you have given him bread and a sword and ahave inquired of God for him, so that he has risen against me, bto lie in wait, as at this day?” 14Then Ahimelech answered the king, “And who among all your servants is so faithful as David, who is the king’s son-in-law, and captain over
Septuagint, Targum; Hebrew  and has turned aside to
your bodyguard, and honored in your house?
15Is today the first time dthat I have inquired of God for him? No! Let not the king impute anything to his servant or to all the house of my father, for your servant has known nothing of all this, emuch or little.” 16And the king said, “You shall surely die, Ahimelech, you and all your father’s house.” 17And the king said to fthe guard who stood about him, “Turn and kill the priests of the Lord, because their hand also is with David, and they knew that he fled and did not disclose it to me.” But the servants of the king would not put out their hand to strike the priests of the Lord. 18Then the king said to Doeg, “You turn and strike the priests.” And Doeg the Edomite turned and struck down the priests, gand he killed on that day eighty-five persons who wore the linen ephod. 19And Nob, the city of the priests, he put to the sword; hboth man and woman, child and infant, ox, donkey and sheep, he put to the sword.

20But one of the sons of Ahimelech the son of Ahitub, named iAbiathar, escaped and fled after David. 21And Abiathar told David that Saul had killed the priests of the Lord. 22And David said to Abiathar, “I knew on that day, jwhen Doeg the Edomite was there, that he would surely tell Saul. I have occasioned the death of all the persons of your father’s house. 23 kStay with me; do not be afraid, for he who seeks my life seeks your life. With me you shall be in safekeeping.”

1 Kings 20:42-43

42And he said to him, “Thus says the Lord, ‘Because you have let go out of your hand the man whom I had devoted to destruction,
That is, set apart ( devoted) as an offering to the Lord (for destruction)
therefore myour life shall be for his life, and your people for his people.’”
43And the king of Israel nwent to his house vexed and sullen and came to Samaria.

2 Kings 3:9-10

9So the king of Israel went with the king of Judah and othe king of Edom. And when they had made a circuitous march of seven days, there was no water for the army or for the animals that followed them. 10Then the king of Israel said, “Alas! pThe Lord has called these three kings to give them into the hand of Moab.”

2 Kings 6:33

33And while he was still speaking with them, the messenger came down to him and said, “This trouble is from the Lord! qWhy should I wait for the Lord any longer?”

2 Chronicles 16:9-10

9 rFor the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to give strong support to those swhose heart is blameless
Or whole
toward him. uYou have done foolishly in this, for from now on vyou will have wars.”
10Then Asa was angry with the seer and put him win the stocks in prison, for he was in a rage with him because of this. And Asa inflicted cruelties upon some of the people at the same time.
