1 Samuel 22:20-23

20But one of the sons of Ahimelech the son of Ahitub, named aAbiathar, escaped and fled after David. 21And Abiathar told David that Saul had killed the priests of the Lord. 22And David said to Abiathar, “I knew on that day, bwhen Doeg the Edomite was there, that he would surely tell Saul. I have occasioned the death of all the persons of your father’s house. 23 cStay with me; do not be afraid, for he who seeks my life seeks your life. With me you shall be in safekeeping.”

1 Samuel 23:6-9

6 dWhen Abiathar the son of Ahimelech had fled to David to Keilah, he had come down with an ephod in his hand. 7Now it was told Saul that David had come to Keilah. And Saul said, “God has given him into my hand, for he has shut himself in by entering a town that has gates and bars.” 8And Saul summoned all the people to war, to go down to Keilah, to besiege David and his men. 9David knew that Saul was plotting harm against him. And he said to Abiathar the priest, eBring the ephod here.”

2 Samuel 15:24

24And fAbiathar came up, and behold, gZadok came also with all the Levites, hbearing the ark of the covenant of God. And they set down the ark of God until the people had all passed out of the city.

2 Samuel 15:29

29So Zadok and Abiathar carried the ark of God back to Jerusalem, and they remained there.

1 Chronicles 15:11-12

11Then David summoned the priests iZadok and jAbiathar, and the Levites Uriel, Asaiah, Joel, Shemaiah, Eliel, and Amminadab, 12and said to them, “You are the heads of the fathers’ houses of the Levites. kConsecrate yourselves, you and your brothers, so that you may bring up the ark of the Lord, the God of Israel, lto the place that I have prepared for it.
