1 Samuel 22:21-23

21And Abiathar told David that Saul had killed the priests of the Lord. 22And David said to Abiathar, “I knew on that day, awhen Doeg the Edomite was there, that he would surely tell Saul. I have occasioned the death of all the persons of your father’s house. 23 bStay with me; do not be afraid, for he who seeks my life seeks your life. With me you shall be in safekeeping.”

1 Kings 1:7

7He conferred with cJoab the son of Zeruiah and with dAbiathar the priest. And they followed Adonijah and helped him.

1 Kings 1:19

19 eHe has sacrificed oxen, fattened cattle, and sheep in abundance, and has invited all the sons of the king, fAbiathar the priest, and Joab the commander of the army, but gSolomon your servant he has not invited.

1 Kings 2:26-27

26And to Abiathar the priest the king said, “Go to hAnathoth, to your estate, for you deserve death. But I will not at this time put you to death, ibecause you carried the ark of the Lord God before David my father, jand because you shared in all my father’s affliction.” 27 kSo Solomon expelled Abiathar from being priest to the Lord, thus fulfilling lthe word of the Lord that he had spoken concerning the house of Eli in Shiloh.

Herod Kills the Children

16Then Herod, when he saw that he had been tricked by the wise men, became furious, and he sent and killed all the male children in Bethlehem and in all that region who were two years old or under, according to the time that he had ascertained from the wise men. 17 mThen was fulfilled what was spoken by the prophet Jeremiah:

weeping and loud lamentation,
Rachel weeping for her children;
she refused to be comforted, because they oare no more.”
