1 Samuel 24:12-15

12 aMay the Lord judge between me and you, may the Lord avenge me against you, but my hand shall not be against you. 13As the proverb of the ancients says, ‘Out of the wicked comes wickedness.’ But my hand shall not be against you. 14After whom has the king of Israel come out? After whom do you pursue? bAfter a dead dog! cAfter a flea! 15 dMay the Lord therefore be judge and give sentence between me and you, and see to it and eplead my cause and deliver me from your hand.”

1 Samuel 26:10-11

10And David said, f“As the Lord lives, gthe Lord will strike him, or hhis day will come to die, ior he will go down into battle and perish. 11 jThe Lord forbid that I should put out my hand against the Lord’s anointed. But take now the spear that is kat his head and the jar of water, and let us go.”

17O Lord, you hear the desire of the afflicted;

18to sdo justice to the fatherless and tthe oppressed,
so that uman who is of the earth may strike terror no more.
