1 Samuel 26:8-11

8 Then Abishai said to David, ^a“God has given your enemy into your hand this day. Now please let me pin him to the earth with one stroke of the spear, and I will not strike him twice.” 9 But David said to Abishai, “Do not destroy him, for who can put out his hand ^bagainst the Lord’s anointed and be guiltless?” 10 And David said, ^c“As the Lord lives, ^dthe Lord will strike him, or ^ehis day will come to die, ^for he will go down into battle and perish. 11 ^gThe Lord forbid that I should put out my hand against the Lord’s anointed. But take now the spear that is ^hat his head and the jar of water, and let us go.”

2 Samuel 4:8

8 and brought the head of Ish-bosheth to David at Hebron. And they said to the king, “Here is the head of Ish-bosheth, the son of Saul, your enemy, ⁱwho sought your life. The Lord has avenged my lord the king this day on Saul and on his offspring.”

Job 31:31

31 if the men of my tent have not said,
‘Who is there that has not been filled with his ^jmeat?’
