David Flees to the Philistines

1Then David said in his heart, “Now I shall perish one day by the hand of Saul. There is nothing better for me than that I should escape to the land of the Philistines. Then Saul will despair of seeking me any longer within the borders of Israel, and I shall escape out of his hand.”

2 Samuel 15:14

14Then David said to all his servants who were with him at Jerusalem, “Arise, and let us aflee, or else there will be no escape for us from Absalom. Go quickly, lest he overtake us quickly and bring down ruin on us and strike the city with the edge of the sword.”

2 Samuel 17:21-22

21After they had gone, the men came up out of the well, and went and told King David.
