The Lord Calls Samuel

1 aNow the boy Samuel was ministering to the Lord in the presence of Eli. bAnd the word of the Lord was rare in those days; there was no frequent vision.

Hosea 4:6

6My people are destroyed cfor lack of knowledge;
dbecause you have rejected knowledge,
I reject you efrom being a priest to me.
And since you have forgotten the law of your God,
fI also will forget your children.

Amos 8:11-12

11 Behold, the days are coming,” declares the Lord God,
“when gI will send a famine on the land
not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water,
hbut of hearing the words of the Lord.
12 iThey shall wander from sea to sea,
and from north to east;
they shall run to and fro, to seek the word of the Lord,
jbut they shall not find it.

Matthew 9:36

36 kWhen he saw the crowds, lhe had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, mlike sheep without a shepherd.

Romans 10:13-15

13For neveryone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

14How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him oof whom they have never heard?
Or  him whom they have never heard
And how are they to hear qwithout someone preaching?
15And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, rHow beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!”
