1 Samuel 4:10-11

10So the Philistines fought, aand Israel was defeated, band they fled, every man to his home. And there was a very great slaughter, for thirty thousand foot soldiers of Israel fell. 11 cAnd the ark of God was captured, dand the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, died.

1 Kings 9:7-8

7 ethen I will cut off Israel from the land that I have given them, fand the house that I have consecrated for my name I will cast out of my sight, gand Israel will become a proverb and a byword among all peoples. 8And this house will become a heap of ruins.

Everyone passing by it will be astonished and will hiss, and they will say, iWhy has the Lord done thus to this land and to this house?’

2 Kings 25:9

9 jAnd he burned the house of the Lord kand the king’s house and all the houses of Jerusalem; every great house he burned down.

2 Chronicles 7:21

21And at this house, which was exalted, everyone passing by will be astonished and say, lWhy has the Lord done thus to this land and to this house?’

Jeremiah 26:6-9

6then I will make this house mlike Shiloh, and I will make this city na curse for all the nations of the earth.’”

7 oThe priests and the prophets and all the people heard Jeremiah speaking these words in the house of the Lord. 8And when Jeremiah had finished speaking all that the Lord had commanded him to speak to all the people, then pthe priests and the prophets and all the people laid hold of him, saying, “You shall die! 9Why have you prophesied in the name of the Lord, saying, ‘This house shall be qlike Shiloh, and this city shall be desolate, rwithout inhabitant’?” And all the people gathered around Jeremiah in the house of the Lord.

Jeremiah 26:18

18Micah of Moresheth prophesied in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and said to all the people of Judah: ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts,

s“‘Zion shall be plowed as a field;
Jerusalem shall become a heap of ruins,
and the mountain of the house a wooded height.’

Jeremiah 52:13-23

13And he burned the house of the Lord, and the king’s house and all the houses of Jerusalem; every great house he burned down. 14And all the army of the Chaldeans, who were with the captain of the guard, broke down all the walls around Jerusalem. 15And Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carried away captive some of the poorest of the people and the rest of the people who were left in the city and tthe deserters who had deserted to the king of Babylon, together with the rest of the artisans. 16But Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard left some of the poorest of the land to be vinedressers and plowmen.

17And the upillars of bronze that were in the house of the Lord, and the stands and the vbronze sea that were in the house of the Lord, the Chaldeans broke in pieces, and wcarried all the bronze to Babylon. 18And they took away xthe pots and the shovels and the snuffers and the basins and the dishes for incense and all the vessels of bronze used in the temple service; 19 yalso the small bowls and the fire pans and the basins and the pots and zthe lampstands and aathe dishes for incense aband the bowls for drink offerings. What was of gold the captain of the guard took away as gold, and what was of silver, as silver. 20As for the two pillars, the one sea, acthe twelve bronze bulls that were under the sea,
Hebrew lacks  the sea
and the stands, which Solomon the king had made for the house of the Lord, the bronze of all these things was beyond weight.
21As for the pillars, the height of the one pillar was eighteen cubits,
A  cubit was about 18 inches or 45 centimeters
afits circumference was twelve cubits, and its thickness was four fingers, and it was hollow.
22On it was a capital of bronze. The height of the one capital was agfive cubits. A network and pomegranates, all of bronze, were around the capital. And the second pillar had the same, with pomegranates. 23There were ninety-six pomegranates on the sides; all the pomegranates were a hundred upon the network all around.
