The Philistines and the Ark

1When the Philistines captured the ark of God, they brought it from aEbenezer to bAshdod. 2Then the Philistines took the ark of God and brought it into the house of Dagon and set it up beside cDagon.

2 Chronicles 26:6-8

6He went out and dmade war against the Philistines and broke through the wall of Gath and the wall of Jabneh and the wall of Ashdod, and he built cities in the territory of Ashdod and elsewhere among the Philistines. 7God helped him eagainst the Philistines and against the Arabians who lived in Gurbaal and against the fMeunites. 8The Ammonites gpaid tribute to Uzziah, and his fame spread even to the border of Egypt, for he became very strong.

Nehemiah 13:23-24

23In those days also I saw the Jews hwho had married women iof Ashdod, jAmmon, and kMoab. 24And half of their children spoke the language of Ashdod, and they could not speak the language of Judah, but only the language of each people.

Jeremiah 25:20

20and lall the mixed tribes among them; all the kings of mthe land of Uz and all the kings of nthe land of the Philistines ( oAshkelon, pGaza, Ekron, and the remnant of qAshdod);

Amos 1:8

8I will cut off the inhabitants from rAshdod,
and him who holds the scepter from Ashkelon;
I will turn my hand against Ekron,
and the remnant of the Philistines shall perish,”

says the Lord God.

Amos 3:9

9 Proclaim to the strongholds in sAshdod
and to the strongholds in the land of Egypt,
and say, “Assemble yourselves on tthe mountains of Samaria,
and see the great tumults within her,
and uthe oppressed in her midst.”

Zechariah 9:5-6

5 vAshkelon shall see it, and be afraid;
Gaza too, and shall writhe in anguish;
Ekron also, because its hopes are confounded.
The king shall perish from Gaza;
Ashkelon shall be uninhabited;
6 wa mixed people
Or  a foreign people; Hebrew  a bastard
shall dwell in Ashdod,
and I will cut off the pride of Philistia.
