1 Samuel 6:19-21

19 aAnd he struck some of the men of Beth-shemesh, because they looked upon the ark of the Lord. He struck seventy men of them,
Most Hebrew manuscripts  struck of the people seventy men, fifty thousand men
and the people mourned because the Lord had struck the people with a great blow.
20Then the men of Beth-shemesh said, cWho is able to stand before the Lord, this holy God? And to whom shall he go up away from us?” 21So they sent messengers to the inhabitants of dKiriath-jearim, saying, “The Philistines have returned the ark of the Lord. Come down and take it up to you.”

2 Samuel 6:9-11

9And David was afraid of the Lord that day, and he said, “How can the ark of the Lord come to me?” 10So David was not willing to take the ark of the Lord into the city of David. But David took it aside eto the house of Obed-edom the Gittite. 11And the ark of the Lord remained in the house of Obed-edom the Gittite three months, fand the Lord blessed Obed-edom and all his household.

Job 21:14-15

14They say to God, gDepart from us!
We do not desire the knowledge of your ways.
15 hWhat is the Almighty, that we should serve him?
And what iprofit do we get if we pray to him?’

Ezekiel 18:25-29

25 j“Yet you say, ‘The way of the Lord is not just.’ Hear now, O house of Israel: Is my way not just? Is it not your ways that are not just? 26 kWhen a righteous person turns away from his righteousness and does injustice, he shall die for it; for the injustice that he has done he shall die. 27Again, lwhen a wicked person turns away from the wickedness he has committed and does what is just and right, he shall save his life. 28Because he considered and turned away from all the transgressions that he had committed, he shall surely live; he shall not die. 29Yet the house of Israel says, ‘The way of the Lord is not just.’ O house of Israel, are my ways not just? Is it not your ways that are not just?

Malachi 3:14-15

14You have said, m‘It is vain to serve God. nWhat is the profit of our keeping his charge or of walking as in mourning before the Lord of hosts? 15And now we call othe arrogant blessed. pEvildoers not only prosper but qthey put God to the test and they escape.’”
