3And Samuel said to all the house of Israel, aIf you are returning to the Lord with all your heart, then bput away the foreign gods and the cAshtaroth from among you and ddirect your heart to the Lord eand serve him only, and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines.”

1 Kings 8:47-49

47yet fif they turn their heart in the land to which they have been carried captive, and repent and plead with you in the land of their captors, saying, g‘We have sinned and have acted perversely and wickedly,’ 48 hif they repent with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their enemies, who carried them captive, and pray to you itoward their land, which you gave to their fathers, the city that you have chosen, and the house that I have built for your name, 49then hear in heaven your dwelling place their prayer and their plea, and maintain their cause

Nehemiah 1:8-9

8Remember the word that you commanded your servant Moses, saying, ‘If you are unfaithful, jI will scatter you among the peoples, 9 kbut if you return to me and keep my commandments and do them, lthough your outcasts are in the uttermost parts of heaven, from there I will gather them and bring them mto the place that I have chosen, to make my name dwell there.’

Isaiah 55:6-7

6 nSeek the Lord while he may be found;
call upon him while he is near;
7let the wicked forsake his way,
and the unrighteous man his thoughts;
let him return to the Lord, that he may have compassion on him,
and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

Jeremiah 8:5-6

5Why then has this people oturned away
