1 Samuel 9:12-13

12 They answered, “He is; behold, he is just ahead of you. Hurry. He has come just now to the city, because the people ^ahave a sacrifice today on ^bthe high place. 13 As soon as you enter the city you will find him, before he goes up to the high place to eat. For the people will not eat till he comes, since he must bless the sacrifice; afterward those who are invited will eat. Now go up, for you will meet him immediately.”

2 Samuel 15:11

11 With Absalom went two hundred men from Jerusalem ^cwho were invited guests, and they went in their innocence and knew nothing.

The Parable of the Wedding Feast

1 And again Jesus ^dspoke to them in parables, saying, 2 ^e“The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who gave ^fa wedding feast for his son, 3 and ^gsent his servants ^{▼▼Greek bondservants; also verses 4, 6, 8, 10} to call those who were invited to the wedding feast, but they would not come. 4 ⁱAgain he sent other servants, saying, ‘Tell those who are invited, “See, I have prepared my ^jdinner, ^kmy oxen and my fat calves have been slaughtered, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding feast.”’
