1 Samuel 9:16
16“Tomorrow about this time I will send to you a man from the land of Benjamin, aand you shall anoint him to be prince ▼▼Or leader
over my people Israel. He shall save my people from the hand of the Philistines. cFor I have seen ▼▼Septuagint adds the affliction of
my people, because their cry has come to me.” 1 Samuel 25:15-16
15Yet the men were very good to us, and we suffered no harm, eand we did not miss anything when we were in the fields, as long as we went with them. 16They were fa wall to us both by night and by day, all the while we were with them keeping the sheep.1 Samuel 30:22-24

He has preserved us and given into our hand the band that came against us. 24Who would listen to you in this matter? gFor as his share is who goes down into the battle, so shall his share be who stays by the baggage. 15Three of the thirty chief men went down to the rock to David at the cave of Adullam, when the army of Philistines was encamped in the nValley of Rephaim. 16David was then in the stronghold, and the ogarrison of the Philistines was then at Bethlehem. 17And David said longingly, “Oh that someone would give me water to drink from the well of Bethlehem that is by the gate!” 18Then the three mighty men broke through the camp of the Philistines and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem that was by the gate and took it and brought it to David. But David would not drink it. He poured it out to the Lord 19and said, “Far be it from me before my God that I should do this. Shall I drink the lifeblood of these men? For at the risk of their lives they brought it.” Therefore he would not drink it. These things did the three mighty men.
