and everyone is a friend to a man who gives fgifts.
7 gAll a poor man’s brothers hate him;
hhow much more do his friends go far from him!
He pursues them with words, but does not have them.
The meaning of the Hebrew sentence is uncertain

Ecclesiastes 9:15-16

15But there was found in it ja poor, wise man, and he by his kwisdom delivered the city. Yet no one remembered that poor man. 16But I say that lwisdom is better than might, though mthe poor man’s wisdom is despised and his words are not heard.
