Jeremiah 1:11-16

11And the word of the Lord came to me, saying, bJeremiah, what do you see?” And I said, “I see an almond
 Almond sounds like the Hebrew for watching (compare verse 12)
branch.”
12Then the Lord said to me, “You have seen well, for I am watching over my word to perform it.”

13The word of the Lord came to me a second time, saying, “What do you see?” And I said, “I see da boiling pot, facing away efrom the north.” 14Then the Lord said to me, fOut of the north disaster
The Hebrew word can mean evil, harm, or  disaster, depending on the context; so throughout Jeremiah
shall be let loose upon all the inhabitants of the land.
15For behold, hI am calling all the tribes of the kingdoms of the north, declares the Lord, iand they shall come, and every one shall set his throne at the entrance of the gates of Jerusalem, against all its walls all around and against all the cities of Judah. 16And jI will declare my judgments against them, for all their evil kin forsaking me. lThey have made offerings to other gods and mworshiped the works of their own hands.

The Glory of the Lord

4As I looked, behold, na stormy wind came oout of the north, and a great cloud, with pbrightness around it, and fire flashing forth continually, and in the midst of the fire, qas it were gleaming metal.

Acts 10:11-17

11and saw sthe heavens opened and something like a great sheet descending, being let down by its four corners upon the earth. 12In it were all kinds of animals and reptiles and birds of the air. 13And there came a voice to him: Rise, Peter; kill and eat.” 14But Peter said, “By no means, Lord; tfor I have never eaten anything that is ucommon or vunclean.” 15And the voice came to him again a second time, wWhat God has made clean, do not call common.” 16This happened three times, and the thing was taken up at once to heaven.

17Now while Peter was inwardly perplexed as to what xthe vision that he had seen might mean, behold, ythe men who were sent by Cornelius, having made inquiry for Simon’s house, stood at the gate
