1 Thessalonians 2:10-12

A Life Pleasing to God

1 Finally, then, brothers, ^{▼▼Or brothers and sisters; also verses 10, 13} we ask and urge you in the Lord Jesus, that as you ^hreceived from us ⁱhow you ought to walk and ^jto please God, just as you are doing, that you ^kdo so more and more. 2 For ^lyou know what instructions we gave you through the Lord Jesus. 3 For this is the will of God, ^myour sanctification: ^{▼▼Or your holiness} ^othat you abstain from sexual immorality; 4 that each one of you know how to control his own ^pbody ^{▼▼Or how to take a wife for himself; Greek how to possess his own vessel} in holiness and ^rhonor, 5 not in ^sthe passion of lust ^tlike the Gentiles ^uwho do not know God; 6 that no one transgress and ^vwrong his brother in this matter, because the Lord is ^wan avenger in all these things, as we told you beforehand and solemnly warned you. 7 For ^xGod has not called us for ^yimpurity, but in holiness.

1 Timothy 4:11-12

11 Command and teach ^zthese things. 12 ^aaLet no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers ^aban example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.

1 Timothy 6:11

Fight the Good Fight of Faith

11 But as for you, ^acO man of God, ^adflee these things. ^aePursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, gentleness.

Titus 2:8-10

8 and ^afsound speech that cannot be condemned, ^agso that an opponent may be put to shame, having nothing evil to say about us. 9 ^ahBondservants ^{▼▼Or Slaves (for the contextual rendering of the Greek word doulos, see Preface)} are to be submissive to their own masters ^ajin everything; they are to be well-pleasing, not argumentative, 10 not pilfering, ^akbut showing all good faith, ^also that in everything they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior.

Titus 3:8

8 The saying is ^amtrustworthy, and I want you to insist on these things, so that those who have believed in God may be careful ^anto devote themselves to good works. These things are excellent and profitable for people.
