1 Timothy 6:1-2

1 aLet all who are under a yoke as bondservants
Or slaves (for the contextual rendering of the Greek word doulos, see Preface)
regard their own masters as worthy of all honor, cso that the name of God and the teaching may not be reviled.
2Those who have believing masters must not be disrespectful on the ground that they are dbrothers; rather they must serve all the better since those who benefit by their good service are believers and beloved.

False Teachers and True Contentment

eTeach and urge these things.

Titus 2:9-10

9 fBondservants
Or Slaves (for the contextual rendering of the Greek word doulos, see Preface)
are to be submissive to their own masters hin everything; they are to be well-pleasing, not argumentative,
10not pilfering, ibut showing all good faith, jso that in everything they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior.

1 Peter 2:17-19

17 kHonor everyone. lLove the brotherhood. mFear God. Honor the emperor.

18 nServants, be subject to your masters with all respect, not only to the good and gentle but also to the unjust. 19For this is a gracious thing, when, omindful of God, one endures sorrows while suffering unjustly.
