1 Timothy 6:9-10

9 But ^athose who desire to be rich fall into temptation, ^binto a snare, into many senseless and harmful desires that ^cplunge people into ruin and destruction. 10 For the love of money is a root of ^dall kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs.

James 1:9-11

9 Let the lowly brother boast in his exaltation, 10 and ^ethe rich in his humiliation, because ^flike a flower of the grass ^{▼▼Or a wild flower} he will pass away. 11 For the sun rises with its scorching heat and ^hwithers the grass; its flower falls, and its beauty perishes. So also will the rich man fade away in the midst of his pursuits.

James 2:6

6 But you ⁱhave dishonored the poor man. Are not the rich the ones who oppress you, and the ones who ^jdrag you ^kinto court?

James 5:1-4

Warning to the Rich

1 Come now, ^lyou rich, weep and howl for the ^mmiseries that are coming upon you. 2 ⁿYour riches have rotted and ^oyour garments are moth-eaten. 3 Your gold and silver have corroded, and their corrosion will be evidence against you and will eat your flesh like fire. ^pYou have laid up treasure ^qin the last days. 4 Behold, ^rthe wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you kept back by fraud, are crying out against you, and ^sthe cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of ^tthe Lord of hosts.
