Solomon Prays for Wisdom

7 aIn that night God appeared to Solomon, and said to him, “Ask what I shall give you.” 8And Solomon said to God, “You have shown great and steadfast love to David my father, band have made me king in his place. 9O Lord God, clet your word to David my father be now fulfilled, for you have made me king over a people as numerous das the dust of the earth. 10Give me now wisdom and knowledge to ego out and come in before this people, for who can govern this people of yours, which is so great?” 11God answered Solomon, “Because this was in your heart, and you have not asked for fpossessions, wealth, honor, or the life of those who hate you, and have not even asked for long life, but have asked for wisdom and knowledge for yourself that you may govern my people over whom I have made you king, 12wisdom and knowledge are granted to you. I will also give you griches, possessions, and honor, hsuch as none of the kings had who were before you, and none after you shall have the like.”

Matthew 7:7-8

Ask, and It Will Be Given

7 iAsk, jand it will be given to you; kseek, and you will find; lknock, and it will be opened to you. 8For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.

of all.
45For even the Son of Man came not to be served but abto serve, and acto give his life as a ransom for admany.”

Jesus Heals Blind Bartimaeus

46 aeAnd they came to Jericho. And afas he was leaving Jericho with his disciples and a great crowd, Bartimaeus, aga blind beggar, the son of Timaeus, was sitting by the roadside. 47And when he heard that it was ahJesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” 48And many airebuked him, telling him to be silent. But he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” 49And Jesus stopped and said, Call him.” And they called the blind man, saying to him, aj“Take heart. Get up; he is calling you.” 50And throwing off his akcloak, he sprang up and came to Jesus. 51And Jesus said to him, alWhat do you want me to do for you?” And the blind man said to him, amRabbi, let me recover my sight.”

Mark 11:24
