Rehoboam was forty-one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city that the Lord had chosen out of all the tribes of Israel to put his name there. His mother’s name was Naamah the Ammonite. 14 And he did evil, ^bfor he did not set his heart to seek the Lord.

15 ^cNow the acts of Rehoboam, ^dfrom first to last, are they not written in the chronicles of ^eShemaiah the prophet and of ^fIddo ^gthe seer? ^{▼▼After seer, Hebrew adds according to genealogy} There were continual wars between Rehoboam and Jeroboam. 16 And Rehoboam slept with his fathers and was buried in the city of David, and ⁱAbijah ^{▼▼Spelled Abijam in 1 Kings 14:31} his son reigned in his place.
