2 Chronicles 17:7-9

7In the third year of his reign he sent his officials, Ben-hail, Obadiah, Zechariah, Nethanel, and Micaiah, ato teach in the cities of Judah; 8 band with them the Levites, Shemaiah, Nethaniah, Zebadiah, Asahel, Shemiramoth, Jehonathan, Adonijah, Tobijah, and Tobadonijah; and with these Levites, the priests Elishama and Jehoram. 9And cthey taught in Judah, having the Book of the Law of the Lord with them. They went about through all the cities of Judah and taught among the people.

Ezra 7:10

10For Ezra had set his heart to study the Law of the Lord, and to do it dand to eteach his statutes and rules in Israel.

Nehemiah 8:1-3

Ezra Reads the Law

1And all the people gathered as one man into the square before fthe Water Gate. And they told gEzra the scribe to bring the Book of the Law of Moses that the Lord had commanded Israel. 2So Ezra the priest hbrought the Law before the assembly, both men and women and all who could understand what they heard, ion the first day of the seventh month. 3 jAnd he read from it facing the square before the Water Gate from early morning until midday, in the presence of the men and the women and those who could understand. And the ears of all the people were attentive to the Book of the Law.

Nehemiah 8:7-8

7 kAlso Jeshua, Bani, Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodiah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan, Pelaiah, the Levites,

mhelped the people to understand the Law, nwhile the people remained in their places.
8They read from the book, from the Law of God, clearly,

and they gave the sense, so that the people understood the reading.

Nehemiah 9:3

3 pAnd they stood up in their place and read from the Book of the Law of the Lord their God for a quarter of the day; for another quarter of it they made confession and worshiped the Lord their God.

Nehemiah’s Final Reforms

1On that day qthey read from the Book of Moses in the hearing of the people. And in it was found written rthat no Ammonite or Moabite should ever enter the assembly of God, 2for they did not meet the people of Israel with bread and water, but hired Balaam against them to curse them—yet our God turned the curse into a blessing. 3As soon as the people heard the law, sthey separated from Israel all tthose of foreign descent.

Malachi 2:7

7For uthe lips of a priest should guard knowledge, and people
