2 Chronicles 18:8

8Then the king of Israel summoned an officer and said, “Bring quickly Micaiah the son of Imlah.”

Jeremiah 37:15-21

15And the officials were enraged at Jeremiah, and they beat him aand imprisoned him in the house of Jonathan the secretary, for it had been made a prison.

16 bWhen Jeremiah had come to the dungeon cells and remained there many days, 17King Zedekiah sent for him and received him. The king questioned him csecretly in his house and said, “Is there any word from the Lord?” Jeremiah said, “There is.” Then he said, d“You shall be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon.” 18Jeremiah also said to King Zedekiah, “What wrong have I done to you or your servants or this people, ethat you have put me in prison? 19 fWhere are your prophets who prophesied to you, saying, ‘The king of Babylon will not come against you and against this land’? 20Now hear, please, O my lord the king: glet my humble plea come before you and hdo not send me back to the house of Jonathan the secretary, lest I die there.” 21So King Zedekiah gave orders, and they committed Jeremiah to ithe court of the guard. And a loaf of bread was given him daily from the bakersstreet, juntil all the bread of the city was gone. So Jeremiah remained in kthe court of the guard.

Jeremiah 38:6-7

6So they took Jeremiah land cast him into the cistern of Malchiah, the king’s son, which was in mthe court of the guard, letting Jeremiah down nby ropes. oAnd there was no water in the cistern, but only mud, and pJeremiah sank in the mud.

Jeremiah Rescued from the Cistern

7When qEbed-melech rthe Ethiopian, sa eunuch who was in the king’s house, heard that they had put Jeremiah into the cistern—the king was sitting tin the Benjamin Gate

Acts 24:25-27

25And as he reasoned uabout righteousness and self-control and the coming judgment, Felix was alarmed and said, “Go away for the present. vWhen I get an opportunity I will summon you.” 26At the same time he hoped wthat money would be given him by Paul. So he sent for him often and conversed with him. 27When two years had elapsed, Felix was succeeded by Porcius xFestus. And ydesiring to do the Jews a favor, zFelix left Paul in prison.
