2 Chronicles 21:19-20

19In the course of time, at the end of two years, his bowels came out because of the disease, and he died in great agony. His people made no fire in his honor, alike the fires made for his fathers. 20 bHe was thirty-two years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem. And he departed cwith no one’s regret. dThey buried him in the city of David, but not in the tombs of the kings.

2 Chronicles 35:25

25 eJeremiah also uttered a lament for Josiah; and all fthe singing men and singing women have spoken of Josiah in their laments to this day. They made these a rule in Israel; behold, they are written in the Laments.

Jeremiah 16:4

4 gThey shall die of deadly diseases. hThey shall not be lamented, nor shall they be buried. iThey shall be as dung on the surface of the ground. jThey shall perish by the sword and by famine, kand their dead bodies shall be food for the birds of the air and for the beasts of the earth.

Jeremiah 16:6

6Both great and small shall die in this land. lThey shall not be buried, and no one shall lament for them or mcut himself nor make himself bald for them.

Jeremiah 22:10

10 oWeep not for him who is dead,
nor grieve for him,
pbut weep bitterly for him who goes away,
for he shall return no more
to see his native land.
