2 Chronicles 32:23-29

23And many abrought gifts to the Lord to Jerusalem and precious things to Hezekiah king of Judah, so that he was exalted in the sight of all nations from that time onward.

Hezekiah’s Pride and Achievements

24 bIn those days Hezekiah became sick and was at the point of death, and he prayed to the Lord, and he answered him and gave him a sign. 25But Hezekiah cdid not make return according to the benefit done to him, for dhis heart was proud. Therefore ewrath came upon him and Judah and Jerusalem. 26But Hezekiah fhumbled himself for the pride of his heart, both he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the wrath of the Lord did not come upon them in the days of Hezekiah.

27And Hezekiah had very great riches and honor, and he made for himself treasuries for silver, for gold, for precious stones, for spices, for shields, and for all kinds of gcostly vessels; 28storehouses also for the yield of grain, wine, and oil; and stalls for all kinds of cattle, and sheepfolds. 29He likewise provided cities for himself, and flocks and herds in abundance, for God had given him very great possessions.

Ezekiel 28:2-5

2 hSon of man, say to ithe prince of Tyre, Thus says the Lord God:

j“Because your heart is proud,
and kyou have said, ‘I am a god,
I sit in the seat of the gods,
in the heart of the seas,’
yet lyou are but a man, and no god,
mthough you make your heart like the heart of a god
3 nyou are indeed wiser othan pDaniel;
no secret is hidden from you;
4by your wisdom and your understanding
qyou have made wealth for yourself,
and have gathered gold and silver
into your treasuries;
5by your great wisdom in your trade
you have increased your wealth,
and ryour heart has become proud in your wealth

Ezekiel 29:3

3speak, and say, Thus says the Lord God:

sBehold, I am against you,
Pharaoh king of Egypt,
tthe great dragon that lies
in the midst of his streams,
uthat says, ‘My Nile is my own;
I made it for myself.’

Daniel 4:30-32

30and the king answered and said, v“Is not this great Babylon, which I have built by wmy mighty power as a royal residence and for xthe glory of my majesty?” 31 yWhile the words were still in the king’s mouth, there fell a voice from heaven, “O King Nebuchadnezzar, to you it is spoken: The kingdom has departed from you, 32 zand you shall be driven from among men, and your dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field. And you shall be made to eat grass like an ox, and seven periods of time shall pass over you, aauntil you know that the Most High rules the kingdom of men and gives it to whom he will.”
