2 Chronicles 33:10-19

Manasseh’s Repentance

10The Lord spoke to Manasseh and to his people, but they paid no attention. 11 aTherefore the Lord brought upon them the commanders of the army of the king of Assyria, who captured Manasseh with hooks and bbound him with chains of bronze and brought him to Babylon. 12And when he was in distress, he entreated the favor of the Lord his God cand humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers. 13He prayed to him, and dGod was moved by his entreaty and heard his plea and brought him again to Jerusalem into his kingdom. eThen Manasseh knew that the Lord was God.

14Afterward he built an outer wall for the city of David west of fGihon, in the valley, and for the entrance into gthe Fish Gate, and carried it around hOphel, and raised it to a very great height. He also put commanders of the army in all the fortified cities in Judah. 15And ihe took away the foreign gods and the idol from the house of the Lord, and all the altars that he had built on the mountain of the house of the Lord and in Jerusalem, and he threw them outside of the city. 16He also restored the altar of the Lord and offered on it sacrifices of peace offerings and of thanksgiving, and he commanded Judah to serve the Lord, the God of Israel. 17 jNevertheless, the people still sacrificed at the high places, but only to the Lord their God.

18Now the rest of the acts of Manasseh, and khis prayer to his God, and the words of lthe seers who spoke to him in the name of the Lord, the God of Israel, behold, they are in the mChronicles of the Kings of Israel. 19And his prayer, and how nGod was moved by his entreaty, and all his sin and his faithlessness, and the sites oon which he built high places and set up the pAsherim and the images, before qhe humbled himself, behold, they are written in the Chronicles of the Seers.

Isaiah 1:16-19

16 sWash yourselves; make yourselves clean;
remove the evil of your deeds from before my eyes;
tcease to do evil,
17learn to do good;
useek justice,
correct oppression;
vbring justice to the fatherless,
plead the widow’s cause.
18 Come now, wlet us reason
Or dispute
together, says the Lord:
though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as ywhite as snow;
though they are red like crimson,
they shall become like wool.
19 zIf you are willing and obedient,
you shall eat the good of the land;

Isaiah 55:6-7

6 aaSeek the Lord while he may be found;
call upon him while he is near;
7let the wicked forsake his way,
and the unrighteous man his thoughts;
let him return to the Lord, that he may have compassion on him,
and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

Ezekiel 18:28-32

28Because he considered and turned away from all the transgressions that he had committed, he shall surely live; he shall not die. 29Yet the house of Israel says, ‘The way of the Lord is not just.’ O house of Israel, are my ways not just? Is it not your ways that are not just?

30Therefore abI will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, declares the Lord God. acRepent and turn from all your transgressions, adlest iniquity be your ruin.
Or lest iniquity be your stumbling block
31 afCast away from you all the transgressions that you have committed, and agmake yourselves a new heart and a new spirit! ahWhy will you die, O house of Israel? 32 aiFor I have no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Lord God; ajso turn, and live.”

Nebuchadnezzar Restored

34 akAt the end of the days I, Nebuchadnezzar, lifted my eyes to heaven, and almy reason returned to me, and I blessed the Most High, and praised and honored amhim who lives forever,

anfor his dominion is an everlasting dominion,
and aohis kingdom endures from generation to generation;
35 apall the inhabitants of the earth are accounted as nothing,
and aqhe does according to his will among the host of heaven
and among the inhabitants of the earth;
arand none can stay his hand
or assay to him, “What have you done?”
36At the same time atmy reason returned to me, and for authe glory of my kingdom, avmy majesty and splendor returned to me. awMy counselors and axmy lords sought me, and I was established in my kingdom, and still more greatness was ayadded to me. 37Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, azpraise and extol and honor the baKing of heaven, bbfor all his works are right and his ways are just; and bcthose who walk in pride he is able to humble.
