2 Chronicles 35:25

25 aJeremiah also uttered a lament for Josiah; and all bthe singing men and singing women have spoken of Josiah in their laments to this day. They made these a rule in Israel; behold, they are written in the Laments.

Nehemiah 8:9-12

This Day Is Holy

9And Nehemiah, who was cthe governor, and Ezra dthe priest and scribe, and the Levites who taught the people said to all the people, e“This day is holy to the Lord your God; fdo not mourn or weep.” For all the people wept as they heard the words of the Law. 10Then he said to them, “Go your way. Eat the fat and drink sweet wine and gsend portions to anyone who has nothing ready, for this day is holy to our Lord. And do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” 11So the Levites calmed all the people, saying, “Be quiet, for this day is holy; do not be grieved.” 12And all the people went their way to eat and drink and to send portions and to make great rejoicing, because hthey had understood the words that were declared to them.

Ecclesiastes 3:4

4a time to kweep, and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn, and a time to ldance;

Joel 1:13

A Call to Repentance

13 oPut on sackcloth and lament, pO priests;
qwail, O ministers of the altar.
Go in, rpass the night in sackcloth,
sO ministers of my God!
tBecause grain offering and drink offering
are withheld from the house of your God.

Joel 2:17

17 uBetween the vvestibule and the waltar
xlet the priests, the ministers of the Lord, weep
and say, “Spare your people, O Lord,
and make not your heritage a reproach,
a byword among the nations.
Or  reproach, that the nations should rule over them

zWhy should they say among the peoples,
Where is their God?’”

James 4:8-10
