11 ^aZedekiah was twenty-one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. 12 He did what was evil in the sight of the Lord his God. He did not humble himself before ^bJeremiah the prophet, who spoke from the mouth of the Lord.

3 King Zedekiah sent ^hJehucal the son of ⁱShelemiah, and ^jZephaniah the priest, the son of ^kMaaseiah, to Jeremiah the prophet, saying, “Please ^lpray for us to the Lord our God.” 4 ^mNow Jeremiah was still going in and out among the people, ⁿfor he had not yet been put in prison.
