2 Chronicles 36:15-16

15The Lord, the God of their fathers, asent persistently to them by his messengers, because he had compassion on his people and on his dwelling place. 16 bBut they kept mocking the messengers of God, cdespising his words and scoffing at his prophets, duntil the wrath of the Lord rose against his people, until there was no remedy.

Isaiah 6:8-10

Isaiah’s Commission from the Lord

8And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for eus?” Then I said, “Here I am! Send me.” 9And he said, “Go, and say to this people:

f“‘Keep on hearing,
Or Hear indeed
but do not understand;
keep on seeing,
Or see indeed
but do not perceive.’
10 iMake the heart of this people jdull,
Hebrew fat

and their ears heavy,
and blind their eyes;
llest they see with their eyes,
and hear with their ears,
and understand with their hearts,
and turn and be healed.”

Jeremiah 1:7

7But the Lord said to me,

“Do not say, ‘I am only a youth’;
for to all to whom I send you, you shall go,
and mwhatever I command you, you shall speak.

Jeremiah 7:2

2 nStand in the gate of the Lord’s house, and proclaim there this word, and say, Hear the word of the Lord, all you men of Judah who enter these gates to worship the Lord.

Jeremiah 25:3-7

3“For twenty-three years, ofrom the thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah, to this day, the word of the Lord has come to me, and I have spoken ppersistently to you, qbut you have not listened. 4 rYou have neither listened nor inclined your ears to hear, although the Lord spersistently sent to you all his servants the prophets, 5saying, tTurn now, every one of you, ufrom his evil way and evil deeds, and vdwell upon the land that the Lord has given to you and your fathers from of old and forever. 6 wDo not go after other gods to serve and worship them, xor provoke me to anger ywith the work of your hands. Then I will do you no harm.’ 7 zYet you have not listened to me, declares the Lord, aathat you might provoke me to anger abwith the work of your hands to your own harm.

Jeremiah 26:2-6

2Thus says the Lord: acStand in the court of the Lord’s house, and speak to all the cities of Judah that come to worship in the house of the Lord adall the words that I command you to speak to them; aedo not hold back a word. 3 afIt may be they will listen, and every one turn from his evil way, agthat I may relent of the disaster that I intend to do to them ahbecause of their evil deeds. 4You shall say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord: aiIf you will not listen to me, to walk in my law that I have set before you, 5 ajand to listen to the words of my servants the prophets whom I send to you akurgently, although you have not listened, 6then I will make this house amlike Shiloh, and I will make this city ana curse for all the nations of the earth.’”

Jeremiah 36:2

2Take aoa scroll and apwrite on it all the words that I have spoken to you against Israel and aqJudah arand all the nations, asfrom the day I spoke to you, from the days of Josiah until today.

Ezekiel 3:4-8

4And he said to me, atSon of man, go to the house of Israel and speak with my words to them. 5For you are not sent to a people of foreign speech and a hard language, but to the house of Israel 6not to many peoples of foreign speech and a hard language, whose words you cannot understand. auSurely, if I sent you to such, they would listen to you. 7 avBut the house of Israel will not be willing to listen to you, for they are not willing to listen to me: because all the house of Israel awhave a hard forehead and a stubborn heart. 8 axBehold, I have made your face as hard as their faces, and your forehead as hard as their foreheads.
