2 Chronicles 6:14-16

14and said, “O Lord, God of Israel, athere is no God like you, in heaven or on earth, bkeeping covenant and showing steadfast love to your servants who walk before you with all their heart, 15 cwho have kept with your servant David my father what you declared to him. You spoke with your mouth, and with your hand have fulfilled it this day. 16Now therefore, O Lord, God of Israel, keep for your servant David my father what you have promised him, saying, d‘You shall not lack a man to sit before me on the throne of Israel, eif only your sons pay close attention to their way, to walk in my law as you have walked before me.’

Isaiah 1:11-20

11 fWhat to me is the multitude of your sacrifices?
says the Lord;
I have had enough of burnt offerings of rams
and the fat of well-fed beasts;
I do not delight in the blood of bulls,
or of lambs, or of goats.
12 “When you come to gappear before me,
who has required of you
this trampling of my courts?
13Bring no more vain offerings;
incense is an abomination to me.
hNew moon and Sabbath and the icalling of convocations
I cannot endure jiniquity and ksolemn assembly.
14Your lnew moons and your appointed feasts
my soul hates;
they have become a burden to me;
I am weary of bearing them.
15When you mspread out your hands,
I will hide my eyes from you;
neven though you make many prayers,
I will not listen;
oyour hands are full of blood.
16 pWash yourselves; make yourselves clean;
remove the evil of your deeds from before my eyes;
qcease to do evil,
17learn to do good;
rseek justice,
correct oppression;
sbring justice to the fatherless,
plead the widow’s cause.
18 Come now, tlet us reason
Or dispute
together, says the Lord:
though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as vwhite as snow;
though they are red like crimson,
they shall become like wool.
19 wIf you are willing and obedient,
you shall eat the good of the land;
20but if you refuse and rebel,
you shall be eaten by the sword;
xfor the mouth of the Lord has spoken.”

Jeremiah 7:4-11

4 yDo not trust in these deceptive words: ‘This is the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord.’

5For if you truly zamend your ways and your deeds, if you truly aaexecute justice one with another, 6if you abdo not oppress the sojourner, the fatherless, or the widow, acor shed innocent blood in this place, adand if you do not go after other gods to your own harm, 7 aethen I will let you dwell in this place, afin the land that I gave of old to your fathers forever.

8Behold, you trust in deceptive words to no avail. 9 agWill you steal, murder, commit adultery, ahswear falsely, aimake offerings to Baal, ajand go after other gods that you have not known, 10and then come and stand before me in this house, akwhich is called by my name, and say, ‘We are delivered!’—only to go on doing all these abominations? 11 alHas this house, amwhich is called by my name, anbecome a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, I myself have seen it, declares the Lord.

John 18:28

1 John 1:5-6

Walking in the Light

5 auThis is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that avGod is light, and in him is no darkness at all. 6 awIf we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and axdo not practice the truth.
