38if they repent with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their captivity to which they were carried captive, and pray toward their land, which you gave to their fathers, the city that you have chosen and the house that I have built for your name,

Isaiah 55:6-7

6 aSeek the Lord while he may be found;
call upon him while he is near;
7let the wicked forsake his way,
and the unrighteous man his thoughts;
let him return to the Lord, that he may have compassion on him,
and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

Hosea 14:1-3

A Plea to Return to the Lord

1 bReturn, O Israel, to the Lord your God,
for cyou have stumbled because of your iniquity.
2Take with you words
and return to the Lord;
say to him,
Take away all iniquity;
accept dwhat is good,
and we will pay with bulls

3 gAssyria shall not save us;
hwe will not ride on horses;

jIn you the orphan finds mercy.”
