8Blessed be the Lord your God, who has delighted in you aand set you on his throne as king for the Lord your God! bBecause your God loved Israel and would establish them forever, he has made you king over them, that you may execute justice and righteousness.”

The Reign of the Lord’s Anointed

1 cWhy do dthe nations rage
Or  nations noisily assemble

and the peoples plot in vain?
2The kings of the earth set themselves,
and the rulers take counsel together,
against the Lord and against his fAnointed, saying,
3“Let us gburst their bonds apart
and cast away their cords from us.”
4 He who hsits in the heavens ilaughs;
the Lord holds them in derision.
5Then he will speak to them in his jwrath,
and terrify them in his fury, saying,
6“As for me, I have kset my King
on lZion, my mholy hill.”

Isaiah 7:6-7

6“Let us go up against Judah and terrify it, and let us conquer it
Hebrew  let us split it open
for ourselves, and set up the son of Tabeel as king in the midst of it,”
7thus says the Lord God:

o“‘It shall not stand,
and it shall not come to pass.

Isaiah 9:6-7

on the throne of David and over his kingdom,
to establish it and to uphold it
abwith justice and with righteousness
from this time forth and forevermore.
acThe zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this.

Luke 19:14

14But adhis citizens hated him and sent a delegation after him, saying, ‘We do not want this man to reign over us.’
