2 Corinthians 6:3-11

3We eput no obstacle in anyone’s way, so that no fault may be found with our ministry, 4but fas servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: gby great endurance, hin afflictions, ihardships, calamities, 5 jbeatings, imprisonments, kriots, labors, sleepless nights, hunger; 6 lby purity, mknowledge, patience, kindness, nthe Holy Spirit, ogenuine love; 7by ptruthful speech, and qthe power of God; with rthe weapons of righteousness for the right hand and for the left; 8through honor and dishonor, sthrough slander and praise. We are treated as impostors, and yet are true; 9as unknown, and tyet well known; uas dying, and behold, we live; vas punished, and yet not killed; 10 was sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; xas poor, yet making many rich; yas having nothing, zyet possessing everything.

5because acour gospel came to you not only in word, but also in power and adin the Holy Spirit and with full aeconviction. Paul’s Ministry to the Thessalonians

1For you yourselves know, brothers,
Or  brothers and sisters; also verses 9, 14, 17
that our amcoming to you anwas not in vain.
2But though we had already suffered and been shamefully treated aoat Philippi, as you know, apwe had boldness in our God aqto declare to you the gospel of God in the midst of much arconflict. 3For asour appeal does not spring from aterror or auimpurity or avany attempt to deceive, 4but just as we have been approved by God awto be entrusted with the gospel, so we speak, not axto please man, but to please God aywho tests our hearts. 5 azFor we never came with words of flattery,
Or  with a flattering speech
as you know, nor with a pretext for greedbbGod is witness.
6 bcNor did we seek glory from people, whether from you or from others, bdthough we could have made bedemands as bfapostles of Christ. 7But we were bggentle

among you, bilike a nursing mother taking care of her own children.
8So, being affectionately desirous of you, we were ready to share with you not only the gospel of God bjbut also our own selves, because you had become very dear to us.

9For you remember, brothers, bkour labor and toil: we blworked night and day, that we might not be a burden to any of you, while we proclaimed to you the gospel of God. 10You are witnesses, and bmGod also, bnhow holy and righteous and blameless was our conduct toward you believers.

2 Thessalonians 3:7-9

7For you yourselves know bohow you ought to imitate us, because bpwe were not idle when we were with you, 8nor did we eat anyone’s bread without paying for it, but bqwith toil and labor we worked night and day, that we might not be a burden to any of you. 9It was brnot because we do not have that right, but to give you in ourselves bsan example to imitate.
