2 Corinthians 1:14

14just as you did apartially understand usthat bon the day of our Lord Jesus cyou will boast of us as dwe will boast of you.

2 Corinthians 11:12-16

12And what I am doing I will continue to do, ein order to undermine the claim of those who would like to claim that in their boasted mission they work on the same terms as we do. 13For such men are ffalse apostles, gdeceitful workmen, hdisguising themselves as apostles of Christ. 14And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as ian angel of light. 15So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as jservants of righteousness. kTheir end will correspond to their deeds.

Paul’s Sufferings as an Apostle

16I repeat, llet no one think me foolish. But even if you do, accept me as a fool, so that I too may boast a little.

2 Corinthians 12:1-9

Paul’s Visions and His Thorn

1I must go on boasting. Though there is nothing to be gained by it, I will go on to visions and mrevelations of the Lord. 2I know a man nin Christ who fourteen years ago was ocaught up to pthe third heavenwhether in the body or out of the body I do not know, qGod knows. 3And I know that this man was caught up into rparadisewhether in the body or out of the body I do not know, sGod knows 4and he heard things that cannot be told, which man may not utter. 5On behalf of this man I will boast, but on my own behalf I will not boast, texcept of my weaknesses 6though if I should wish to boast, uI would not be a fool, for I would be speaking the truth; but I refrain from it, so that no one may think more of me than he sees in me or hears from me. 7So vto keep me from becoming conceited because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations,
Or  hears from me, even because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations. So to keep me from becoming conceited
xa thorn was given me in the flesh, ya messenger of Satan to harass me, to keep me from becoming conceited.
8 zThree times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me. 9But he said to me, aaMy grace is sufficient for you, for abmy power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that acthe power of Christ may rest upon me.
