2 Corinthians 11:8-12

8 I robbed other churches by accepting support from them in order to serve you. 9 And when I was with you and was ^ain need, ^bI did not burden anyone, for the brothers who came from Macedonia ^csupplied my need. So I refrained and will refrain ^dfrom burdening you in any way. 10 ^eAs the truth of Christ is in me, this boasting of mine ^fwill not be silenced in the regions of Achaia. 11 And why? ^gBecause I do not love you? ^hGod knows I do!

12 And what I am doing I will continue to do, ⁱin order to undermine the claim of those who would like to claim that in their boasted mission they work on the same terms as we do.

2 Thessalonians 3:8-9

8 nor did we eat anyone’s bread without paying for it, but ^jwith toil and labor we worked night and day, that we might not be a burden to any of you. 9 It was ^knot because we do not have that right, but to give you in ourselves ^lan example to imitate.
