2 Corinthians 7:10-11

10 For ^agodly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret, whereas ^bworldly grief produces death. 11 For see what earnestness this godly grief has produced in you, but also what eagerness to clear yourselves, what indignation, what fear, what longing, ^cwhat zeal, what punishment! At every point you have proved yourselves innocent in the matter.

2 Peter 1:4-8

4 by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become ^dpartakers of the divine nature, ^ehaving escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire. 5 For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith ^fwith virtue, ^{▼▼Or excellence; twice in this verse} and virtue ^hwith knowledge, 6 and knowledge with self-control, and self-control ⁱwith steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, 7 and godliness ^jwith brotherly affection, and brotherly affection ^kwith love. 8 For if these qualities ^{▼▼Greek these things; also verses 9, 10, 12} are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or ^munfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
