2 Kings 10:30-31

30And the Lord said to Jehu, “Because you have done well in carrying out what is right in my eyes, and have done to the house of Ahab according to all that was in my heart, cyour sons of the fourth generation shall sit on the throne of Israel.” 31But Jehu was not careful to walk in the law of the Lord, the God of Israel, with all his heart. dHe did not turn from the sins of Jeroboam, which he made Israel to sin.

Ezekiel 29:18-20

18 eSon of man, fNebuchadnezzar king of Babylon made his army labor hard against Tyre. Every head was made bald, and every shoulder was rubbed bare, yet neither he nor his army got anything from Tyre to pay for the labor that he had performed against her. 19Therefore thus says the Lord God: gBehold, I will give the land of Egypt to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon; hand he shall carry off its wealth
Or multitude
jand despoil it and plunder it; and it shall be the wages for his army.
20 kI have given him the land of Egypt as his payment for which he labored, because they worked for me, declares the Lord God.

Matthew 6:2

2 lThus, when you give to the needy, sound no trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may mbe praised by others. Truly, I say to you, they have nreceived their reward.

6But when you pray, ogo into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. pAnd your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

Fasting

16And qwhen you fast, do not look gloomy like the hypocrites, for they disfigure their faces that their fasting may be seen by others. rTruly, I say to you, they have received their reward.
