2 Kings 13:3-7

3 aAnd the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel, and he gave them continually into the hand of bHazael king of Syria and into the hand of cBen-hadad the son of Hazael. 4Then Jehoahaz dsought the favor of the Lord, and the Lord listened to him, efor he saw the oppression of Israel, how the king of Syria oppressed them. 5(Therefore the Lord gave Israel fa savior, so that they escaped from the hand of the Syrians, and the people of Israel lived in gtheir homes as formerly. 6Nevertheless, they did not depart from the sins of the house of Jeroboam, hwhich he made Israel to sin, but walked

7For there was not left to Jehoahaz an army of more than fifty horsemen and ten chariots and ten thousand footmen, for the king of Syria had destroyed them and made them like the dust kat threshing.

2 Chronicles 28:5-9

Judah Defeated

5 lTherefore the Lord his God gave him into the hand of the king of Syria, who defeated him and took captive a great number of his people and brought them to Damascus. He was also given into the hand of the king of Israel, who struck him with great force. 6For mPekah the son of Remaliah killed 120,000 from Judah in one day, all of them men of valor, because they had forsaken the Lord, the God of their fathers. 7And Zichri, a mighty man of Ephraim, killed Maaseiah the king’s son and Azrikam the commander of the palace and Elkanah the next in authority to the king.

8The men of Israel took captive 200,000 nof their relatives, women, sons, and daughters. They also took much spoil from them and brought the spoil to Samaria. 9But a prophet of the Lord was there, whose name was Oded, and he went out to meet the army that came to Samaria and said to them, “Behold, because the Lord, the God of your fathers, owas angry with Judah, he gave them into your hand, but you have killed them in a rage pthat has reached up to heaven.

Psalms 106:41-42

41he qgave them into the hand of the nations,
so that those who hated them ruled over them.
